Cut the cable

Everybody likes more TV viewing choices, right? So how could cutting the cable — eliminating cable or satellite service — make you better off? Here are several ways:

  1. Obviously, you pay less. You get free broadcast channels using an old-fashioned antenna.
  2. You actually get better quality on many HDTV channels, because the cable and broadcast operators compress some of the quality out of their signals.
  3. You may well spend more time doing real things and less time vegging out watching TV.
  4. And finally, watching less TV means less exposure to the “buy-consume-throw away” culture.

But how do you get decent signals using an antenna? Follow this link to my antenna page and find out.
